About Diane Splinter
We are part of nature and the collective whole. By weaving intention and emotion in artful imagery of nature, my art is a reminder that we are all interconnected in the vast web of life. I paint from the heart. Acrylic, watercolor and mixed media express what I feel but cannot put in words. What we do not have an emotional heartfelt connection to, we cannot value and save. I'm honored that many of my crane images are represented at Audubon and conservation centers around the USA. To have my work promote conservation and the health of the planet in even a small way -- and its need for our reverence and protection-- is a dream come true. I have exhibited in regional art festivals since 2004 and have also participated in several gallery shows, primarily in the midwest USA. Thanks to the internet, my work is more available and I now have collectors around the world. Inspiration is all around, but I am very drawn to painting forest views I've encountered on walks, especially birch trees, flowering trees, and the dragonflies, birds, and butterflies that are always welcome in my life. I've been fortunate enough to have spent lots of time in and around forests and lakes of Wisconsin and Finland, and these formative and continuing experiences in nature resonate in all that I do.
